Corporate photographer Binghamton NY

If you are looking to have an assignment completed by a corporate photographer in Binghamton NY, then please take a little time to acquaint yourself with my different style of corporate and editorial photography.

I’m a full time photographer who specializes in photography for business and publications. A deep understanding of the needs of communications and marketing departments as well as editors stems from my years of working as a news photojournalist. This foundation brings a technical and visual agility to my work, allowing me to capture, or create, very natural and active photos as well as create great portraits with a minimum amount of fuss.

I working in barns and boardrooms. Across fields and in labs. At high noon and through the night. Really, I work anywhere that is outside of what you would call "the safety of the studio".

Some of the other areas I serve as a Binghamton corporate photographer include:

  • Syracuse
  • Whitney Point
  • Cortland
  • Ithaca
  • Utica
  • Cooperstown
  • Oneonta
  • Delhi

How I’m different as a corporate and editorial photographer

You’ll see a lot of slick images elsewhere on the web from corporate photography sessions. People are often in brightly lit settings, with the background washed out. The images feature monochromatic or desaturated color palettes. It all caters to a bright and airy aesthetic.

My work is a little more saturated. Rich. The lighting is directional and often will be warm toned.

And you’ll see that people are often not in offices. Focusing on an annual report style of photography, my corporate photography work is done out in the field. At manufacturing plants and in farm facilities. With people in their natural environments.

Also, I work quickly and efficiently. Each shot isn’t a 4 hour setup with multiple frames shot the are composited together later. OK, there are times I’ll composite something for a shot going in a hero-position. But we get it right in-camera. Then move on.

Finally, people skills are key under pressure. Going in to a setting which has volunteered to allow a creative crew to invade them for an afternoon can be unsettling for some folks. People get self conscious. They worry that their locations doesn’t have anything that looks like the pretty photos they have seen. I’m quick at reassuring them that finding and making those pretty photos is my job. Then they are put at ease and buy-in to the project. Inevitably the best thing that can happen, does. They have a suggestion of something else we need to see, and it usually results in a great shot. Bonus!
